This is a very simple job that we recommend you complete every 2 years to ensure your Filtoclear’s function remains optimal. After this time, you will see the sponges no longer sit flush within the unit meaning they are not functioning as they should and the efficiency of the cleaning mechanism is severely reduced.
Remove the clip holding the lid to the body of the filter. Once removed, use the cleaning handle to separate the lid of the filter from the body.
The bottom plate has two visible screws holding the filter foams in place. These are Phillips head screws and need to be removed.
Once removed, the bottom plate should slide off, allowing you to remove the foams.
Although not essential, it is worth giving the unit a good hose-pipe clean while upstanding the head unit; this will ensure a longer life for your Filtoclear.
Once you are happy you’ve removed any debris from the filter, simply slide your new foams into place.
Finally, screw the 2 Phillips head screws into place and, using proper technique ( see our article here if unsure ) re-attach the lid and clip to the filter unit.
